2023-S Peace Silver Dollar Proof Coin with Box & COA The Peace Silver Dollar is an iconic 20th-century American silver coin. It replaced the Morgan Silver Dollar and was produced by the US Mint from 1921 to 1928. The engravings accompanying her depiction read “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of mintage. The reverse design showcases a peaceful Eagle resting on a rock, holding an olive branch. The inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” are on top, the coin’s face value of “ONE DOLLAR” flanks the Eagle, and the word “PEACE” lies on at the bottom rim. The San Francisco branch mint mark consists of a discreet “S” imprinted next to the Eagle’s tale and the word “ONE” engraved on the reverse side. In addition, proof coins exhibit a frosted foreground and stunning mirror-like background because they are hand-treated, polished, and struck at least twice.
