Buy MS-66 Peace Dollars Online The Peace Dollar was given its name in honor of the peace treaties that were signed in the wake of World War I. As everyone knows, this peace, like the Peace Dollar, was shortlived. The Peace Dollar was the last ever junk silver dollar minted by the US Mint when it ended in 1935. A grade of MS-66 for a silver coin of this age is extremely uncommon. PCGS has only ever graded just over 8,000 Peace Dollars as MS66. This is just .004% of the 187 million Peace Dollars ever produced, which is an exceptionally low percentage. The obverse features Lady Liberty wearing a crown in the center of the design. The word “LIBERTY” is minted at the top of the coin, with the year of mintage at the bottom. “IN GOD WE TRUST” is also minted on the obverse. The reverse features a bald eagle perched on a rock. If a Peace Dollar has a mintmark, it would be imprinted above the eagle’s tail feathers. Above the eagle are two lines of words: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” & “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. “ONE DOLLAR” is minted next to the eagle along with the word “PEACE” at the very bottom.
