Random Year Peace Dollar – VG+ Condition (90% Silver) The Peace Dollar is one of the most iconic U.S. silver coins ever struck, offering both historical significance and strong collectible appeal. Produced from 1921–1928 and again from 1934–1935, this classic 90% silver dollar contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver and is widely regarded as an excellent entry point for new collectors. Its relatively short production span, attractive artistry, and accessible premiums make it a popular choice for both silver stackers and numismatists. Available at SD Bullion, these circulated Peace Dollars come in VG+ (Very Good) condition and may include various dates and mint marks from 1922–1935. Coin Highlights Contains 0.7734 troy ounces of 90% silver; Struck by the U.S. Mint from 1921–1928 and 1934–1935; VG+ condition with visible wear and toning typical of circulated coins; Legal tender with a $1 face value; Mint marks may include Philadelphia (no mint mark), Denver (D), or San Francisco (S), depending on stock; Obverse features Lady Liberty; reverse displays a perched eagle above the inscription “PEACE.” The Design The obverse presents a youthful depiction of Lady Liberty, designed by sculptor Anthony de Francisci. The portrait symbolizes a modern, revitalized vision of American liberty during the post–World War I era. De Francisci’s wife served as the artistic model for the design, contributing to its lifelike character and unique style. The reverse showcases a majestic eagle at rest, perched atop a rock and holding an olive branch—an emblem of peace. The word “PEACE” appears boldly beneath, reinforcing the coin’s purpose: commemorating the end of World War I and the nation’s hope for lasting global harmony. Additional Historical Context The US Mint held a competition with the spirit of selecting a design that would best showcase this theme of peace. The Commission of Fine Arts invited eight prominent sculptors to produce designs for the new coin. The eventual winner of the contest was 34 year old artist and sculptor Anthony de Francisci. Using his wife as a model for Lady Liberty, De Francisci set out to design a coin that would “capture the spirit of the country—its intellectual speed, vigor and vitality.” Buy Random Year VG+ Peace Dollars at SD Bullion Enhance your collection or silver holdings with a genuine piece of American history. Great old coin, a little slow on shipping. I paid for fast shipping and it took a while before they shipped.

Given the current price of silver, I considered this purchase a great deal.

SD has become my go to dealer for REAL money..

  • David G.

Some very nice circulated coins with minimum wear. Price was good, not great, but that is par for the course in today's volatile metals market. Will purchase again, AFTER my state cancels it's 6% tax on coins and metals. I have concerns with delivery as all the delivery services (USPS, UPS, FEDEX) have (mostly) stopped delivering directly to a person and just leave packages near your residence. This, of course, is not the doing of SD Bullion, though I wish THEY would complain to the carriers.
